From the earliest honeycomb mice, lightweight mouse is always related to the hollow design, or special metal materials. With the revolution of manufacturing processes, surface designs have achieved lightweight goals without holes. The Lamzu Maya X mouse, which we are unboxing this time, defines a balance between lightweight design and performance.

Package Contents
The contents of the Maya X mouse are the same as the Fnatic x Lamzu Thron: the mouse itself, receiver, and accessory pouch with a velvet bag. The split-open design of the box is very refined.

The outer box features “suitable for claw grip” illustrations, showcasing the manufacturer’s attention to detail.

The official specification indicates a weight of 47g, the actual measurement is 46.8 grams, which is in the acceptable range. Compared to another popular mouse, the WL Mouse Beast X Max, the Maya X maintains a smooth surface while adding only 3 grams of weight.

The bottom of the mouse has a simple hollow design, revealing the PCB. The power and DPI switches are centrally positioned, and there are six districts of mouse feet covered with plastic stickers.

The size is similar to the Beast X Max, being a symmetrical design ideal for claw grips.

Receiver
Unlike previous models, the exclusive receiver supports up to 8000Hz polling rate. It is a rectangular design, clearly labeled with “8K Polling” on the side.

The most significant change compared to Lamzu’s previous mice is adopting a web-based UI application called “Aurora”. Firmware updates, performance settings, and button configurations are all handled online, allowing real-time battery monitoring.

Thoughts and Observations After a Month of Use
Basic Performance, Build Quality, and Coating
The Maya X uses the Pixart 3950 sensor and Nordic 52840 MCU, providing stable power efficiency and connection. The build quality is comparable to the Razer Viper V3. Its appearance may look heavier by 7-8 grams than its actual weight in hand. Compared to the Beast X Max, the internal and bottom structures of the Maya X may be the main reason for its slightly higher weight. When held, its symmetrical design feels sturdy with a more refined, robust material. The left and right buttons fit perfectly, reflecting why Fnatic collaborated with Lamzu.
The matte PC coating enhances grip friction, reducing the chances of slipping. However, for users with sweaty palms, the Maya X is easy to showing stains and requires frequent cleaning.

Buttons and Scroll Wheel
The Maya X features Omron optical switches (likely D2FP-FN2 0.65N), the same as the Beast X Max. These are extremely quiet, lightweight, and suitable for different grip styles like palm and claw grips. Unlike Huano BSPD blue shell switches or Kailh GM8.0, these switches prevent finger fatigue and maintain low noise during intense use.
Mouse Feet
The Maya X’s mouse feet are among the best I’ve used. The slightly transparent material and six independent sections ensure seamless compatibility with any mouse pad. Using Razer’s Strider textured cloth pad, I experienced no noticeable resistance after nearly four weeks.

Battery Life
This is likely the most critical factor for all users. After connecting to the web UI and updating the latest firmware, using a 2K polling rate for 4 hours daily, the battery dropped to 23% on the 8th day, the battery life is estimated to last 30-35 hours. At a 1K polling rate with the same usage pattern, the battery dropped to 27% on the 14th day, estimating around 70 hours of battery life.
Overall Evaluation
At a price of $120 (about NT$3,900), the Maya X stands out for its top-tier structural integrity, build quality, and user-friendly web UI (requiring internet access, which has its pros and cons). The coating, while enhancing grip, is a double-edged sword. Sweaty users may experience coating wear and cleaning challenges, but the enhanced grip is a clear advantage.
